ROLLOVER ACCIDENT: Wrong-Way Driver Dies in Rollover Crash

Auburn – A 25-year-old Newcastle woman died after her vehicle rolled over east of Highway 193 early Thursday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

Sandra Hauser reportedly just made a U-turn along Interstate 80 while driving her westbound 1990 Acura Integra on the third eastbound lane before she lost control over the vehicle.

She was driving east at around 2:30 am near Maple Street when she swerved and veered off the roadway. Her vehicle then hit a rock embankment and flipped over.

Hauser was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are yet to determine whether alcohol or drugs was a factor in the accident.
