Woman Dies after SUV Run over

Cerritos – An unidentified 50-year-old woman died Monday afternoon in a medical facility after she was hit and run over by a sports utility vehicle while walking in the parking lot of a shopping center.

The Downey woman was rushed to a hospital after being hit while walking close to a grassy median at around 1:45 p.m. in Cerritos Towne Center. She was later declared dead at 2:27 p.m. in La Palma Hospital.

According to authorities, the driver of the SUV lost control over the vehicle but the Hawaiian Gardens resident was not arrested as the investigation regarding the accident is still on-going.
