Vehicle Collision: Vehicle crashes into jail bus in South LA

Los Angeles – An unidentified driver was injured when the vehicle he was riding collided with a sheriff’s bus Friday morning.

The accident occurred on Harbor (110) Freeway, north of El Segundo Boulevard, around 7 a.m. A Saturn vehicle crashed into the side of the jail bus, which tore a hole in its cargo area.

The vehicle then careened, went down an embankment, and overturned, according to Sheriff”s Chief Bill McSweeney.

The driver of the car was sent to the hospital for treatment of injuries, but no other information about him is available yet.

LA Sheriff’s Department also said that there was one prisoner on the bus. Paramedics are now examining him for any injuries.
