BIKE ACCIDENT: Teen Bicycle Rider Killed in Accident

Waterford – A 16-year-old girl suffered fatal injuries after she was hit by a truck while riding her bicycle, Friday afternoon.

Ashley Henderson was riding her bike on Western Avenue when she crossed Highway 132 and was rammed by an elderly man driving a pickup truck at around 5:45 p.m.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, the girl was thrown on the truck’s hood that caused head and upper body injuries. She died a few minutes after midnight Saturday at a Modesto hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver who was not identified has not been charged.

Any witnesses are asked to contact the Modesto police department to help the investigation.
