Rear-End Collision Kills Rider

Escondido – A motorcyclist who appeared to be in his 70s died Monday morning after he rear-ended an SUV and failed to stop and merge with the speed of the traffic, authorities said.
Reports indicate that the man was riding his 2002 Harley Davidson along the fast lane of I-15 when he failed to slow down and hit the preceding Chevy Suburban.
The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. He died at the scene. No other injuries were immediately reported.
Some lanes were temporarily closed as police investigated the accident. The identity of the man is yet to be released pending notification of the family.
