March 2, 2010
Linden – A 62-year-old man suffered fatal injuries when the car where he was riding got involved in a series of collisions on Highway 26, this morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white 1990 Toyota Camry was turning left from the eastbound lane of Highway 26 toward a driveway in North Gogna Road when he was rear-ended by a Chrysler PT Cruiser.
CHP spokesperson Officer Angel Arceo said the collision pushed the Camry at the middle of the road, and it was hit by a westbound Ford Aerostar on the passenger side. The second impact fatally injured the 62-year-old Linden man.
The occupants of both the PT Cruiser and the Aerostar, and the Camry’s driver sustained minor injuries.
Reports said the Cruiser’s driver, Shamlynne Lee, 47, of Stockton was driving over the speed limit which has caused the chain collision. Lee will be charged for speeding, and possibly vehicular manslaughter depending on the results of the investigation.
