Crash Leaves Two Dead, Twins in Critical Condition
May 25, 2009
Oakland – A drunk woman driver has caused the death of two adults, including her domestic partner, and the injury of twin boys after a solo crash early Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
Tiffany Reynolds, 26, of Richmond, was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol at around 1:20 am along Interstate 880 when she slammed onto a concrete wall.
Reynolds sustained neck and other injuries while her domestic partner and brother-in-law, Sara and David Tierra, died in the crash.
Sara Tierra’s twin 3-year-old boys are on life support as their condition remains to be critical. One of them was apparently thrown from the vehicle onto the freeway while the other was jammed under the steering column.
Reports indicate that neither of the boys was on a car seat as prescribed by law.
