PERSONAL INJURY: Cal Senator Apologizes for DUI Arrest

Sacramento - A state Republican senator has issued an apology following his recent DUI arrest, saying that he is accepting responsibility over his conduct and he is ready to face the consequences of his actions.
According to reports, Senator Roy Ashburn was arrested after police allegedly saw his state-issued Chevy Tahoe swerving along L and 13th Streets.
The anti-gay lawmaker reportedly stayed at a gay nightclub in midtown Sacramento prior to his arrest.
His male passenger was not detained after the incident, said reports.
The senator was booked in Sacramento County Jail and was released later on a $1,400 bond.
Ashburn is currently facing driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level higher than .08% or higher charges.
