CHP Investigates Fatal Car Crash

Fresno, C.A. - California Highway Patrol (CHP) is conducting an investigation concerning the fatal crash that occurred near Visalia.

According to CHP, a man was driving his 2005 Chevrolet south on Road 140 north of Avenue 264 when he went over to the northbound lanes and crashed into a 1997 Lexus that was driven by Joe Manuel Gutierrez, 45, resident of Porterville.

He died when he could not get out of his vehicle as it burst into flames. Meanwhile, Gutierrez sustained major injuries and was brought to Kaweah Medical Center in Visalia.

CHP will not release the driver’s name until his family could be properly notified.

Road 140 was closed for one hour due to the accident.
