55 year old man dead; struck by a car in Lancaster

Lancaster – A 55 year old man was fatally hit by a car today in Lancaster, California.
According to Sheriff’s Lt. Stefanie Fredericks of the Lancaster station, the accident occurred around 11 p.m. in the 2600 block of West Ave. K near 27th Street West.
The initial investigation revealed that before being struck by the vehicle, the man was walking west on the south side of Avenue K. He just stepped out on the street when he was hit by a car travelling West in the No. 2 lane.
The driver was identified as Alea Adams, 41 and lives in Lancaster. She said that the front portion of her car struck the victim.
The victim was proclaimed dead on the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire paramedics. His name was not revealed pending family notification.
According to Lt. Fredericks, the crash remains under investigation.
