BIKE ACCIDENT: 38-Year-Old Man Killed in Oak Park Bicycle Accident

San Diego – A bicyclist was killed after he was struck by a dump truck yesterday afternoon in Oak Park

The county Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as 38-year-old Juan Carlos Navarro.

According to San Diego Police, the bicycle accident happened at the intersection of 54th Avenue and Krenning Street at about 12:50 pm.

Navarro was riding his bicycle along 54th when he was struck by a dump truck in an intersection crosswalk as he tried to pass it on its right side.

Responding paramedics tried to revive Navarro but he died before he could be taken to a hospital.

The eastbound traffic on College Grove Drive was temporarily closed by San Diego Police as they investigated the crash.
