CAR ACCIDENT: 2 seriously injured in Highway 166 Crash

Santa Barbara - Authorities have rescued two people who were seriously injured when their vehicle veered of the highway and fell into a ravine 200 to 300 feet below. The accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. near the Rock Front Ranch area, , Thursday night, Cal Fire said.

Reports said Cal Fire needed to hike down a ravine to respond to a car accident on Highway 166, east of Santa Maria.

One of the victims was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital while the other was taken to Marian Medical Center, the CHP said.

Investigators are finding out the cause of the crash.
